The Days That Became Old – Magtymguly Pyragy

The Days That Became Old
Old mountains, have a look
At the days that grew old like you.
Take away from me your tops,
Those days of my life full of sufferings.
I am separated from my parents,
I am a dried out well,
I am the spring that came with no desire,
Those days that ruined all my dreams and desires.
Being separated from Abdullah and Mammetsapa, I have suffered a lot,
Having separated from them,
There is no devotion from this world,
Those days when all my efforts were in vain.
I didn’t have a chance to enjoy a son or a daughter,
I never took a spear into my hands.
I so much wish to go to Tovriz,
Those days when each of my steps was cursed.
Magtymguly, I have no patience,
I am praying to you my Lord,
My tribe of Goklen is at unrest,
The days when they encountered their enemy.
