Parting – Magtymguly Pyragy

Parting
I lost the shine of my eyes, parting with my dear soul,
The throne of my happiness ruined, departing from the kingdom of this world,
The flowers of my garden withered, losing the fragrance of its amber and basil,
After we lost our great fighter, an enemy started to fight,
I lost my patience, parting with my beloved.
No one will be able to rescue me as I am an unfortunate poor servant,
Water is greatly valued by fish, but I am like a flood not wanted by anyone,
The poison is the food for living creatures, but I am the honey mixed with poison,
I am like wretched flower that separated from its nightingale,
I lost my patience, parting with my beloved.
All who lost their close ones will cry; their moaning will reach the seventh layer of Heaven,
Look how this fate grasped and enslaved a poor servant like me,
Fate disgraced me, playing her ill will on me,
It gave the order of death to me sending me to the city of separation,
I lost my patience, parting with my beloved.
What I chose to be good led me to misfortune,
What I chose to be a horse to saddle, turned out to be a donkey,
What this fate sent as its rays to me dropped to the earth as poison,
Even the city of Yemen cried taking mercy of my state,
I lost my patience, parting with my beloved.
I lost the sight of her soul as if it were spring rain,
I lost my patience and hastened to see what fate had there for me,
Seeing what ills my fate prepared for me, I repented, oh Lord, take my life,
Not realizing the outcome, I threw myself into the fire,
I lost my patience, parting with the beloved.
The Almighty won’t listen to my pleas, I have no way out, my dear friends,
My entire body is on fire, but look, no wounds are seen.
You subjected me to severe sufferings; even fate has lost its count.
Pyragy says, what an injustice, there is no end to this separation,
I lost my patience, parting with the beloved.
